Artist Statement 2025

I am an artist. I am a painter who draws inspiration from everywhere - in music, photos, quotes, movies, books, nature, friendships, fellow artists, and family. My work reflects a wide spectrum of emotions, thoughts, and reflections that shape our shared human experience. I use bright colors and layers of paint to achieve a diverse expression of the many shades of emotions I find within myself. My goal is to inspire others to reach beyond perceived limitations. All forms of art provide infinite possibilities to change the world for the better. The moment a brush touches canvas, something shifts—mind, heart, and soul begin to align.  Whether creating or simply observing, art has the power to heal. Art makes us better as humans and in turn makes the world a better place.

Painting has been my pathway to a richer understanding of myself and the world in which I live. Abstract expressionism allows me to explore freely, to lose and find myself in the same moment. Each painting begins not with a plan, but with a pulse—an intuitive response to color, sound, or memory. I often start by layering vibrant pigments in sweeping gestures, letting the brush move before thought intervenes. I may find myself struggling in deep crevices one day and skipping on air the next. My process is both cathartic and clarifying—a way to distill chaos into beauty, and to offer viewers a space where their own emotions might unfold. My hope is to bring light to others and to purposefully illuminate the light within each of us.
